About Me
Who am I?
I am a veteran, a data scientist, and graduate of University of California, Berkeley’s PhD program as well as Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business MBA program. After some time in the United States Navy as a Nuclear-Qualified Electrician's Mate, I attended the United States Naval Academy. I received my Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering with minors in Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, and Japanese from the University of Arizona. Shortly thereafter I earned my Master of Science in Systems Engineering from the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley.
As a PhD student, my research focused on the use of sophisticated machine learning techniques to help better understand big data associated with the complex processes of hydraulic fracturing.
In a world of large amounts of raw data that represent complex processes, I work to transform the unreadable into the insightful. Combining a strong foundation of Systems Engineering, Digital Signal Processing, and Machine Learning, my work in a very specific domain, like hydraulic fracturing, has enabled me to build very real, transferrable skills that can be applied to nearly any type of large data.
